Great special effects, good flowing story, but came away feeling like the film failed to deliver. 3D didn't feel all that 3d at all. Nothing compared to avatar 3D.

Thriller - ballet dancer Natalie Portman is fighting for the lead role in a new act. Won't really say much more without spoiling it, few twists and turns make it a somewhat artistic and excellent movie. 8.5/10.

Simply a great movie. Awesome film when I first saw it wanted to watch it again to pick-up on the clues. I remember the website where you had a code to enter - was awesome at the time.Stay away from the extended DVD, as it just simply gives you all the answers and thus once answered I didn't want to watch it again. It's one of those Sci-fi / comedies with a unique script.

Never in my life, have I seen anything a fucked up as this film. I live by fucked up cinema, I love it, Japanese, Korean, French you name it, if it's fucked up i've probably seen it. This film makes the likes of Irreversible, I stand alone, three extremes look like mere episodes of sesame street. I couldn't believe what I was watching, no wonder it's banned worldwide pracitcally. Actually has an OK plot and quite well directed. Watch if you dare, my missus now has a damaged soul!!!

Watched this again last night for the first time in a few years. It's just simply amazing. The story, cast, special effects all 10/10 scores. This imo is the best acting performance Russell Crowe has ever pulled off, I don't think he will ever top the greatness of Maximum Meridius. 10/10.

Completely missed this film until reading about it a few days ago. As mike mentioned like a longer episode of 24. Samuel L Jackson is one Bad ass interrogator, Carrie-Anne Moss plays the more social interrogator and yeah basically it's an interrogation movie with a not so Hollywood ending.

Set in Britain near the border of Hadrian's wall (between Scotland and England) around 117 A.D. Essentially about a Roman soldier that gets lost behind the picts enemy lines and the search and rescue team that go to collect him. Few surprises and plenty of violence.

Thought when this was announced it would be shight, but honestly felt it nearly matched the first. Really good relatively low budget horror film. Some "nail biting" moments. Definitely gonna be a third, let's just hope they get out of the apartment block next time :).

Real eye opener of a horror film, shot very blair witch" style. Chilling and tense pretty much from start to finish. Watch this and don't for god's name watch that shight english remake "Quarantine"."

Christopher Nolan definitely has done it again and made another exceptional movie. The concept of the film is based around the ability to enter dream worlds and sync up with other people. It's pulled off very well. The only downside I would say is the plot was a little over complicated, and yet very simple. It wasn't one bit hard to follow - I was hoping for a film with plenty of questions at the end like Memento. 9.5/10 New liverpool IMAX is shight btw, compared to IMAX it's absolute garbage.

True Story and a very decent adaptation of the book, thought it was a thoroughly depressing film , but very good cinematography made this film into a great experience. Imagine being completely paralysed except for the ability to move one eye and blink and this is used as a portal to communicate via a hospital carer. This will be a film I will never watch again but will ultimately stick in my mind for years to come.

Thought this was rather good film set in the world after a nuclear war. Really reminded me of fallout and had a similar feel to the game. Some good violence and has a bit of a twist in it which I thought was a little rediculous tbh.

Chris Morris's (Jam, Brass eye) latest venture. A comedy / drama based around 4 British Muslims that plan a suicide bombing act. For me it was a barrel of laughs throughout, some amazing one liners that had the audience in hysterics. Quite dramatic and serious in parts and really makes you wonder if this is what suicide bombers are like. Make sure you watch through the bits with the credits at the end.

Good movie, same old stark, full of action, amazing special effects and decent storyline, decent quirky moments throughout, not as greatest at first - but still excellent. Make sure you stay and watch after the end credits - that hammer - yes that's the hammer of THOR - anyone read the comic? Well marvel are making the movie - can't bloody wait. The film was one giant Audi advert though, 7/10.

Thoroughly rue the day I wasted Ł7.50 watching this piece of shit movie. It just refused to end, I felt the rage building as the film just went on and on...Only good thing is the special effects.

Crime/thriller film based on the super best selling swedish book - Men Who Hate Women. Part of a trilogy. Essentially about a super smart female hacker girl who gets involed in an unsolved case dating back 40 years. Really suprising, some graphic scenes of abuse and violence and a few twists. Recommend watch. Making a british version atm, i'd say avoid that one like the plague, watch the swedish one with subtitles. 7.5/10.

Full of action, humour and somewhat far fetched film. Thought travolta's character in it was pretty funny, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was a bit of a lamer in it. Funny when they are legging it round paris with the vase of beak. Slight twist but got right onto it in the elevator scene.

Drama, somewhat depressing and didn't really feel happy after watching it. Has some great parts, love the somewhat open ending.

Three stories all blended into one, one set in the past,present and future but linked somewhat. Kind of like a Dramatic sci-fi movie. Really surreal in parts. Strange film i've watched though five times and each time I get a little bit of a different opinion from it. Hugh jackman is great in it, couldn't really imagine anyone else filling his role.

Drama about a failing country and western singer in his late 50's. Alcoholic, generally losing control of life. Quite a saddening movie that I won't ever be watching again. Can fully appreciate why Jeff Bridges won the oscar for best actor with this one.

Not really into Drama's. This is full of Drama, dark story about a girl who is brought up in a world of hell full of abuse both physical and sexual from her parents. forced to eat to become fat and shown no love at all. Would never watch this again. The acting is decent throughout.

This is the best film i've seen this year. Probably one of the best psycological horror films i've ever seen in fact. Utterly horrific in parts, fucked up, some parts mess with your mind so much ya wonder if you're the one going insane! Brilliant twist, won't spoil a thing, I did predict part of the film but still utterly surprised me and left me amazed by the end. Scorcese is one of the best Directors on this planet, his first major horror movie, can't wait to see his next horror!!! 9.5/10.

Absolute disappointment, went to IMAX in manchester to see this. Expected the world out of it and came out utterly disappointed. The special effects where ace in 3d, the whole film was in 3d in fact. The storyline was utterly rushed and wasn't even the original alice in wonderland story - some shit new extended story. Tim Burton is losing his touch.

I'll be honest, I really liked this film. From the same director Park Chan Wook(Oldboy). I thought it was a fresh take on the whole vampire Genre. Gory, Funny in parts. well directed, I thought Park was completely back on form directing this movie.

Bleak film, set in the post apocolyptic future. The world seems to be in a permanent state of winter, no vegetaton can grown, all animals insects and most humans have died. Canibalism is rife, follows a mans struggle to survive with his son and escape the evils of man. Viggo Mortensen is the star of the movie.

Another excellent gritty french movie, not out on the cinema here till next week, but a belter copy available via certain sources . Basically about an arabian man who builts up a criminal empire from jail, is forced into murdering another Arab man or face death himself. He accepts this task, and then the film really beging to boom. Pretty Brutal in parts, weird moments where you see the ghost of the first person he killed talking to him.

Vincent Cassell stars in this gritty take on the french Ghetto. Full on violence between the ghetto gangs and french policeforce. One of the first Vincent Cassell films i'd seen. Spirals into a harsh gritty violent climax.

My favourite film of all time, loved the books, love all the films. This surprised all of my expectations. Practically brought a tear to my eye when I saw minas Tirith in all it's glory. Got all the extended collectors editions boxed up in MINT condition. Roll on the blu-ray release! Cheer to peter jackson for pulling this mammoth trilogy off in the best possible style.

Good little anime flick from japan that centers around time travel. If you like anything to do with time travel this is definitely up your street. Quite funny in parts too.

Another exceptional comic series written by Alan Moore. Having owned the graphic novel since late 1990 I was essentially very excited about this being brought to screen. But somewhere deep inside I felt that no matter who made it, the film would be shit. When the cast was announced, I felt disappointed, thinking that with all this "unknown" actors it would turn out shit. Turned out fucking incredible, almost identical to novel. Got the extended blu-ray, with the extended bits easily hit 10 imo.

Fucked up and french comes to mind when I watched this film. This is directed and written by Gasper Noe (the guy who directed irreversible. Violent and shocking in parts with some real moments that make viewers feel really uneasy. If you like irreversible then this is well worth watching.

Vincent Cassell is easily one of my top 10 favourite actors. He is an absolute fucking meathead in this film.After watching this I could not believe it was true, it is apparently almost a complete account of his criminal life. If you like your gangster flicks and french films then get this in your collection right away, it will not disappoint. I read into him as after watching part 1 and part 2. Un-fucking believable criminal achivements that had many governments chasing after him in the 60-70s.

I'm also a massive fan of anything involving time travel. I love seeing other writers/directors perspectives of how it works. This film does it well. Showing Evans" life from so many different perspectives. Has some dark moments in the story as well."

Fuck, this is the best film I have seen in 2009. I say this without hesitation. Most expensive film ever made. I can see why, the special effects where the best i've ever seen full stop. The storyline was epic, nothing what I expected, predictable in parts, but that's perfectly ok and makes it a great movie imo. I saw the 3D version and urge you all to make sure you do too. The bluray will be getting pre-ordered the day it's available. Already 24 in the top 100, 60% gave it 10/10. Get on it.

Have the blu-ray of this on my christmas list. Loved it, funny as fuck in parts. Pure tarantino style all the way through. Brad Pitt and Eli Roth are the stars of the show. Film less predictable than I thought. Tarantino is a skilled director, who loves his japanese cinema this I respect him for even more.

I'm a fan of Alan Moore, I own all his graphic Novels. Because I read the graphic novel of this several times long before the film, I felt a little let down and did not agree with the Directorial differences brought to screen. The biggest thing that pissed me off was how V was portrayed in the film to be loving and caring, he wass much more of a ruthless killing cunt in the novel, there was also big changes to many of the characters. Still a good film overall.

Belter film. Another film I lashed out and bought on blu-ray, worth every penny. Watched this three times and like it more each time, Liam is an unbelievably rock solid cunt in this film.

I quite liked this movie. More drama than comedy, i'm a fan of Adam Sandler. Quite a lot of famous comedians star in this film and do real standup, there's some real comedy gold moments in this and a fuck load of decent comedians including Ray Romano, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill. Funny moment in it staring eminem where he is giving shit to Ray Romano. Defo worth a watch!

I had very high expectations for this film, having been reading about the idea of it for years online and in Empire. The film came out, watched it, very disappointed. I feel really let down by the director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko). It does have some good momemts and it does have the feel of a twilight zone episode. Cameron Diaz is ultimately still worth a wank, i'm willing to push this film to 5.5 for this reason alone.

When I first saw this I watched it again as soon as it finished. Intelligent little film, refreshing to see at the time. It's ultimately part of my blu-ray collection now. Guy Pearce is the star of the show. Good thinking film, I love any movies that make you think and have puzzles to solve, ultimately they are the most re-watchable films imo.

I went the pics to see this at fact. I must admit I felt a little let down. Being a massive Lars Von Trier fan and all. This was a funny experiences watching this on the cinema with full on vaginal action and some real gritty nasty horrific scenes. I was suprised they even allowed this to be shown on the big screen.

Awesome revenge flick, such a well filmed movie, great cinematrography in parts, shot in reverse, the siren sound at the beginning gets into your soul. My bird vacates the building each time I watch this, sick twisted, but fucking awesomely shot. The ending is so unfortunately twisted.The rape scene is horrific!!

David Lynch is my favourite director TOP OF MY LIST. He's experimental, he always leaves the book open, I practically worship the ground he walks on. Please only watch this film if you have seen the series as it is a prequel to the amazing Twin Peaks. Watched the series through fully 5 times. Still have questions which makes me want to watch it over and over! Dark film with many weird twilight zone" like moments."

Brilliant movie, dark film, fucking yes, I personally wanted to get right on it after seeing this film. It has an ultimate message about how addiction of all things can dominate lives, the finishing 10 minutes is an amazing spine tingling sequence that really shook me up and delvered the final message like a boot up the arse. Darren Aronofsky is a talented director, i've enjoyed everything he's ever done.

This film was my favourite film of 2009. Fucking hell, what a movie. Best batman ever made,Christopher Nolan the genius made all other batmans look like a pre-school stage show. Full on action, violence, dark - really pushed the 12 certificate in parts imo. I bought the blu-ray of this the day it was out and must have seen it in excess of 6 times. The joker character heath played was based upon the one in The Killing Joke" (best batman graphic novel imo). 9.5/10."

I couldn't believe just how true this story was. I looked it up online after watching it - shocking. Good film with decent acting from Angelina Jolie. Shocking to see what extent the police went to in the states, tried to blag a mother that they found her child and gave her a different one, fuckin eh, lol.

I will start by saying what a massive fan I am of foreign cinema - I love the original trilogy - Infernal Affairs. When I first head that a remake was being made I instantly took a harsh stand against it - thinking how could they destroy such a masterpiece of a film (hence what will happen with the Oldboy remake). Excellent cast, excellent director. I can't help but feel that Scorscese really has made this shine.

This is a magical film, made by director chan-wook park" (same guy as oldboy). It's a step in the opposite direction. A girl who thinks she is a combat cyborg checks into a mental hospital, where she encounters other psychotics. Eventually, she falls for a man who thinks he can steal people's souls. It is an absolutely magical little film, very well shot and the cinemagraphy / vivid use of colour made this stick in my mind since the first time I watched it. I urge anyone to give this a go!
