The Diving Bell And The Butterfly (2007) - 7/10
True Story and a very decent adaptation of the book, thought it was a thoroughly depressing film , but very good cinematography made this film into a great experience. Imagine being completely paralysed except for the ability to move one eye and blink and this is used as a portal to communicate via a hospital carer. This will be a film I will never watch again but will ultimately stick in my mind for years to come.

This is the film adaptation of the book of the same name which details the real-life story of Jean-Dominique Bauby, the editor of fashion magazine Elle. Bauby suffered a massive stroke, aged 43, and had to endure the extremely rare condition known as locked-in syndrome, whereby his mind remained functional but his entire body was paralysed. He wrote the book using a form of translation in which a transcriber 'translated' blinks into letters and ultimately, words.
