Resident Evil (2026) - 6/10
For someone who loved the Resident Evil games back in the day, this does an excellent job of representing them. It's refreshing to see a video game adaptation that understands the appeal of the source material without feeling the need to ram the exact same scenario down your throat. Obviously there's an outbreak, zombies and spectacular, gruesome deaths, but that's what we're here for isn't it? The unfortunate protagonist accepts a seemingly straightforward delivery which turns out to be as bad a decision as Jack Torrance's decision to take on the role of caretaker at the Overlook Hotel. It's stupid, of course, but the humour adds to it. I thought it was alright; a lot better than some of the previous Resident Evil films anyway. Worth a watch.
