The Game (1997) - 6/10
I loved this as a kid. I say a kid; it came out when I was 14, so maybe not exactly a kid. Titanic came out the same year and I defo remember watching that and having unchildlike thoughts about Kate Winslet. It also turns out to be the first David Fincher movie I ever saw, even though I didn't know it at the time. Even if someone had pointed that out to me, I'd have probably said "So? Who the fuck is that?" with the sort indignation only a troubled teenager can deliver. It does seem terribly dated now though. I watched it on Netflix and even the quality of the recording was well below par. Plus, to my older, more cynical eyes, it just seems so absolutely implausible to me now that I struggled with it.
