The Box (2009) - 2/10

The box reminds me of a juvenile, filling a box with dog excrement, covering it with lighter fuel, setting it alight and posting it through a letterbox. Only the letterbox belongs to an empty, fireproof house. Starts exciting but peters out quickly with nobody caring and the only trace of it is a bad smell. Gotta be 2/10 from me.

The Box (2009) - 5/10

I had very high expectations for this film, having been reading about the idea of it for years online and in Empire. The film came out, watched it, very disappointed. I feel really let down by the director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko). It does have some good momemts and it does have the feel of a twilight zone episode. Cameron Diaz is ultimately still worth a wank, i'm willing to push this film to 5.5 for this reason alone.

The Box (2009) - 3/10

A couple wake up with a box on their doorstep. Inside the box is a button unit, and they are told they have 24 hours to push the button. If they do, two things will happen; they will get a million dollars, and someone they don't know, somewhere in the world, will die. Sounds good right? Well that is idea #1. It then turns into total drivel, as about another 10 film ideas are crammed unsuccessfully into the rest of the film. You'd get more entertainment out of a box of the cardboard variety. An empty one.
