Amazing film, makes a refreshing change to see a noir film set in a prison with no bumming. Tahar Rahim has a bright future in front of him. Possibly not as bright as Malik though. This years first must see - fuck Avatar.

"You are pukes, you are the lowest form of life on earth, you are not even human fucking beings, you are nothing but unorganised rabastic pieces of amphibian shit !!" I mean come on, thats absolute put down poetry.. The Gunnery Sergeant's quotes are by far the best part of the film but yano what, you dont mind cause they really are that good..Now sound off like you got a pair !!

We all know Spartans are hard, you want proof, ok they used bathe new borns in wine and leave them outside till they were 'inspected' if found to be weak or deformed they were cast into the 'Apothetae' (read big fucking chasm). There entire life envolved around war and fighting so no 'weaklings' were allowed. No honour was greater than death in battle, more proof? Look up the definition of 'spartan', indeed. And finally I only need to say "John-117", yes him, hes a 'Spartan' says it all really..

Inglourious Basterds, or Absolute Bastardos, as my mother calls it, is again a Tarantino masterclass in film making. Every time I watch one of his films I'm left with the feeling that he knows some sort of film-making secret that no-one else knows. You know there's something special going on in his films, but you just can't put your finger on it. Colonel Landa is out-fucking-standing in this, too.

The Book Of Eli (2010)

- 7.8/10 (avg)
"It's not a fuckin' book! It's a weapon. A weapon aimed right at the hearts and minds of the weak and the desperate. It will give us control of them. If we want to rule more than one small, fuckin' town, we have to have it. People will come from all over, they'll do exactly what I tell 'em if the words are from the book. It's happened before and it'll happen again. All we need is that book."

It shouldnt be funny, I mean I've read the book (its quite disturbing) and I know its not something that should amuse me but I have to say I can cry with laughter at this movie, Bateman (Bale) is legendary, his 'Sri Lanka speech' and 'the business card scene' are just outstanding.
